Oregon
Okay.
Part one.
Left the city on friday at 3pm. That was a mistake due to insane traffic but luckily california has the best motorcycle law ever, lane splitting. Took highway 5 straight to ashland oregon only because I’ve been up the 1 and 101 so many times and I had such a late departure time that I figured the 5 would do be me good. I just bombed it the whole way. Arrived at Hannah/Lumins house at like 10 pm. I knocked, no answer, I opened the door and entered. Greeted by a tiny rambunctious kitten I made my way into the kitchen and said hello?
“just a minute…”
That was fat lou who soon appeared from behind a closed door completely naked wearing nothing but a bed sheet. (think Buddhist robe style, more then toga party tunic) I started laughing really hard, he said he was just about to open his third eye. And I thought it was some masturbation joke. But it turns out he just meditates naked.
So we sat on the porch overlooking the valley and the stars and caught up.
The next day. We awoke early, made the most horrible coffee ever. And I couldn’t stand for it, so we went out to breakfast at this rad little spot in Ashland. Got sourdough lemon/blueberry pancakes and a tortilla scramble situation.
Then I packed up and headed out, it was going to be a long day of riding. I rode straight from there to Crater Lake, around the rim of that deep cerulean blue beast. Onwards to Bend oregon where my main goal was to visit the Deschutes brewery. It was successful. I ate at there pub and sampled every beer I hadn’t had. Amazing. My dinner was Spicy chili flake macaroni and cheese with a salad. And the best beer by far was Black Butte Porter , but they also had a special tribute edition of it that was damn fine. It was like a double.
Going through eastern/central oregon was amazing. Its so beautiful and there is literally a million different rivers/lakes/campsites that all look worthy of future exploration. I rolled passed Mt. Hood and made it into portland just as the sun came down.
Here is pictures.
